Pear cut gems have always been popular and these simulated alexandrites are a good reason why. They're a great size that you can wear often, shown here in solid 14kt yellow gold. The gems are synthetic sapphire so they are very hard - much harder than natural alexandrite - and they have the color-change property of the natural material.
